The new seasonal garden print collection will release in exactly a week! In the meantime, I am excited to share with you a bit about these prints including how the originals were made, the process of creating prints, and details about the collection itself.
How the originals were made
Each of these pieces began with a seed. Months before I stepped into the darkroom, or even pulled out my chemicals, I stood in the garden and dreamed of flowers to come. I tended to these seedlings for months until they flourished and bloomed. Each flower has it’s own unique beauty and I took the time to become acquainted with these qualities. This gave me a better understanding of how to capture their beauty in cyanotype. Creating a technique based on the flower itself.
I then mixed my chemicals and coated them on paper in the darkroom, cut and arranged each flower to enhance its natural beauty, and exposed and washed the pieces in small batches to ensure quality.
How the Prints are made
After the originals were finished, I carefully scanned and documented each piece. I then curated a small selection of these originals based on positive response and quality. Once the final selections were made, I placed a number of tests with my print lab to create a final product that is as close to the original as possible. I use fine art quality watercolor paper printed with a giclee large scale printer. This beautifully mimics the texture of originals and makes it ever so difficult to tell it isn’t an original!

Details about the Release
This selection of prints will release on November 10th at 12 pm pst! Since this print edition is unlimited, there won’t be early access for email subscribers but there will be an exclusive discount code. I won’t be doing a sale for Black Friday and this discount will be the only one I’m offering for this holiday season and the rest of the year.
If you like these pieces but only collect originals I still have a few left in the Seasonal Garden Collection. In the new year, I am going to try out offering my season garden originals as commissions exclusively. I am hoping this will allow me to create more sustainably and capture each flower at the height of its bloom. I will be opening a handful of commissions spots in early winter. This date is still tbd, so if you are interested be sure to sign up for my email list for updated information.
I am so excited to finally share this new collection of prints with you and can’t wait to add them to the shop next week!
